Start where you are

For many years, I avoided meditation because I believed it wasn't suited to my personality. When I eventually began practicing, I felt overwhelmed. My thoughts raced, my body fidgeted, and everyone else in the room seemed like seasoned experts. Following my intuition, I decided to quit. Little did I realize that there was nothing to grasp intellectually, but rather everything to experience emotionally.

Many years later, I returned to my meditation practice with a fresh mindset. I couldn't solely credit myself for this transformation; I owed it to being open to the wisdom of those who came before me. I was advised to find the middle way — not too loose and not too rigid. Embracing a gentler and more compassionate approach, I was able to fully embrace the profound history of meditation. Not every day brings bliss, but every challenge presents an opportunity for practice.
